When packaging returns to nature

The fiber molding tray — also known internationally as a molded fiber tray — represents the highest level of packaging sustainability: biodegradable and compostable. Where even recycled paper still requires an industrial processing infrastructure, the fiber molding tray goes one step further: it can be disposed of in organic waste or compost after use.

Scafa Thermoforming manufactures fiber molding trays using the dry-fiber process from pure cellulose fibers and plant-based binders — free from synthetic additives, plastics, or heavy metals. The result is a tray with surprising dimensional stability, suitable for both direct food packaging and technical products as well as consumer goods.

For food manufacturers, the fiber molding tray is particularly interesting: it is food-safe, dispenses with PE coatings, and its natural fiber structure provides protection against impacts, vibrations, and compressive loads. The surface absorbs moisture vapor, which can even improve shelf life for certain fresh products.

From egg packaging to fruit and vegetable trays, electronic inlays, and cosmetic trays: the fiber molding tray is a true all-round performer among sustainable packaging formats. We manufacture your fiber molding tray to exact specifications — Made in Germany, direct from the manufacturer.
